PolyLite™ PETG is an affordable filament that balances ease of printing with mechanical properties, superior to PLA in heat resistance (+20°C) and durability. This makes it suitable for functional applications like lighting fixtures or prototypes, where PLA’s durability or heat resistance is insufficient. Cooling fans improve surface finish, but for stronger parts, they’re less necessary. PETG, a thermoplastic polyester, differs from PLA (a biodegradable thermoplastic) in composition, printing temperature, strength, durability, heat resistance, and printability, affecting their respective applications.
